Strolling past lines of “steady” watches in presentation cases at retail establishments or shopping. center gem specialists, I tend to discover little of the individual hobby. However, those watches arrive for a reason. They are intended to fulfill the masses: a collection of man and women I understand that I am typically not a part of.but rather who by and by constitute a vast segment of the general watch purchasing demographic. Who outlines looks for these individuals and what sorts of watches draw in them? In view of these inquiries, I conversed with Enrico Margaritelli. Some time ago the head of the configuration at US-based Fossil watches. Margaritelli has outlined innumerable looks for his current Glam Rock watch mark and scores of others.

Basically, I needed to know how one plans watches that “everybody” watches. You’ve been outlining looks for some brands for a long time. What precisely do shoppers search for nowadays in a watch? That is hard to answer however I feel a purchase can be arranged into two classes: a style customer or a top of the line buyer. A design customer regularly searches for a surely understood extravagance brand name and a nearby impersonation to that brand’s most prevalent style at a sensible cost point. A top of the line purchaser is either a great top of the line shopper or a super popular top of the line buyer. A great top of the line customer likes to keep the same look for quite a while though a super in vogue top of the line purchaser puts in a fortune consistently on the following and most recent pattern.

When they begin to see the same watch on the wrist of an excess of individuals they get tired and search for the following one. I would say that imagination must mull over style pattern elucidation. An outline thought can be started from the littlest thing, for example, a point of interest of an extra. Inventiveness means having the capacity to take that little detail and transform it into a whole design. I am sufficiently fortunate to have the capacity to portray and I really appreciate the procedure of drawing my manifestations with pencil and paper. However, imagination can be proficient without having the capacity to draw. I have seen commonly where designer doesn’t know how to hold a pencil, however, know extremely well how to convey their design thought to individuals who can put their thoughts to paper. This is likewise an astounding blessing.

Best Green Jewels: The Luck of the Irish

Best Green Jewels

March is here and that means St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner! To celebrate, we like to turn everything green – our clothes, food, and of course, our jewels. Conveniently enough, emerald is the Pantone color of the year, and while there are no emeralds on this list, the jewel tone decorates each and every last piece (most are green onyx with one crystal clear exception). See if you can find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Bounkit 24-Karat Gold-Plated Onyx Cuff: A bracelet fit for the Emerald Isle itself! It’s fun to pile on different cuffs, but with a piece this brilliant, you only need one.

Erickson Beamon White Wedding Gold-Plated Swarovski Crystal Necklace: Every St. Patrick’s Day is different. Some years you stay in to celebrate with family, but for the ones when you want to go out in style, this statement necklace will be your lucky charm.

Bounkit Green Onyx Bracelet: This is the one time of year when it is easy being green, so bulk up like the Hulk with stacks of green beads.

Devon Leigh Green Onyx Dangle Earrings: With delicate drops of green onyx decorating the golden hoops, these are the perfect dangling earrings for a Celtic princess.

Deborah Pagani Green Onyx & Diamond Talula Ring: This Art Deco-inspired ring looks like a talisman that would bewitch all who laid eyes on it. Just make sure to use its powers for good!

Jenny Packham Bridal Collection

…even when you’re not! That’s right – I’m not going to let the fact that I’m already married stop me from commandeering these looks. I’ve been excited about the jewels since I saw them at Jenny Packham’s runway show. I love that the Swarovskis are set like diamonds – it elevates the look without elevating the price.  Jenny’s a master of mixing old world beauty with the new. This easily could’ve come from the Tower of London!  yet just as delectable. For something sleeker,  The chain draping and different sized stones relax the look. Wear it out with your favorite dress – just make sure it’s not white! Available on

Vita Fede Half Moon Crystal Ear Cuff: Doubling Down

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

Vita Fede Half Moon Crystal Ear Cuff

In my twenties I got my belly button pierced. I know, I know – what a cliché! There was just something rebellious about having it done that attracted me. When I got pregnant, I figured it was time to take it out, and there’s been a little scar there ever since, a memento of my carefree days. I’m not thinking of having it redone, but I have been thinking about a double piercing for my ears. No, I’m not having a midlife crisis! Just feeling a little nostalgic. Many suggested I go to Claire’s, but since I’m not 13, I found an alternative – a beautician from India who’s been piercing for over 15 years. Hey, it was either this or Botox, and I’m just not ready for that! I love the results and have been playing around with all sorts of different looks, my favorite being these Vita Fede crystal ear cuffs. Wear them together, or if symmetry’s not your thing, sport a solo earring. The half moon shapes line the bottoms of your ears in shimmering Swarovskis, while the hooks at the top of each cuff keep them perfectly in place. Do you like my new look?

Golden Globetrotting: Wanderlust…

Golden Globetrotting

I’m thrilled to be working with the LoveGold again to curate my favorite jewels. If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, then gold must be the cousin she loves to play with. And it’s no accident that all things good are considered “golden.” The element transcends currencies and languages and is considered the single best investment by the most savvy of investors. Also, it’s just plain pretty. I like to call it wearable art, and am excited to share some of my favorite finds from recent travels. I’m always on the lookout for jewelry designers who craft gold in new and exciting ways, and these are just a few of the incredible talents out there!

From Mexico, there’s Aurora Bailey, a former artist who creates one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by…well, rocks! Doesn’t sound all that glamorous, but envision precious stone rocks in the form of emeralds and rubies. Seems pretty glamorous now, huh?

Golden Globetrotting

Famed Jewel Artist Cindy Chao also blurs the line between jeweler and artist (she sculpts each piece herself). Her work is even in the permanent collection at the Smithsonian. With butterfly brooches and branch bangles, Cindy’s already won the world over, so really you don’t even need to visit Beijing to come across her gorgeous creations (though I recommend the trip, anyway!).

Golden Globetrotting

When I was in Thailand with the hubby and boy last summer, I found this stunning gold and turquoise ring with raw diamond slices by a local jewel artisan. From the revered Van Cleef & Arpels four leaf clover motif necklace my grandmother introduced me to during our last trip to Paris fourteen years ago (it was her final time in Europe) to this funky ring found on the islands, I’ve always had a thing for gold and turquoise and collect it everywhere I go. Many cultures throughout history have thought it to bring good luck, and who couldn’t use some of that?

Golden Globetrotting

During a visit to Italy last month, I heard about Buccellati’s half a million dollar iPad cover. Yes, you read that correctly…$485,000, to be exact! The gold case features the jeweler’s famous Rigato etching technique, in which parallel lines are cut onto the surface of the metal to obtain a sheen effect. Taking inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings of the sun, Buccellati topped this with sunburst designs made of yet more gold (white this time, to contrast the yellow) and plenty of diamonds. Certainly a very expensive souvenir for the casual traveler, but there’s no denying it’s a sight to see!

Who are some of the jewelry designers you’ve discovered abroad? Hashtag #LoveGold and #Wanderlust with photos of jewels you found on trips, and we will pick our favorites to post on the Snob Essentials Instagram!

MASK Jewelry: Collabo Craving of the Season

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

MASK Jewelry

One thing that Marc Alary and Yves Spinelli both have is a creative, relaxed air of class. Walking into the recent launch of their collabo-collection was like walking into a private party of New York’s chicest crowd, because it was. A room of black-garbed goddesses was punctuated by one head of blue hair and the omnipresent pink dots on Lynn Yaeger’s cheeks.

After being welcomed into the private home event with a glass of bubbly, everyone hovered around the glass boxes holding the latest from each Alary and Spinelli, as well as the new collaboration between the two gents. This very-balanced melding of their two styles is titled MASK, a conveniently mysterious melding of their initials. The collection focuses on the signature Spinelli multi-finger ring and the animalia of Mr. Alary, specifically the snake.

As a longtime jewelry junky with a gypsy-like life, I can’t have a crow-like tactic when it comes to purchasing; everything needs to be classic, intriguing and wearable in many scenarios. While being attracted to tribal and native jewelry, as well as the works of the great high jewelry maisons, I find that wearing an African-beaded chest plate doesn’t quite work for aprés work cocktails, just as a waterfall of Van Cleef diamonds feels exorbitant on the subway to get groceries. I want jewelry that bridges this gap, providing a handcrafted work that has edge and refinement but also versatility.

Alary’s approach to jewelry is mischievous, kinetic and has a sense of humor. His pieces show excellent craftsmanship with attention to the minute details of the attitude that one expects out of each creature he transforms into a piece of adornment. From the playfulness of his monkeys to the ominous teeth of the crocodile, he gives a little personality to each.

What Alary provides in humor, Spinelli provides in structure and allegory. The names and colors of several of his pieces relate to a constellation, each having their own mythological tale. For example, the Vega Ring is named after the second-brightest star in the Northern Celestial Hemisphere. Depending on which history you read, the story of this star varies, but for the Roman Empire, the moment this star went beneath the horizon autumn began.

From my perch at the show, I gathered that the crowd favorite was a combination of the Galaxy ring from Spinelli Kilcollin and a lifelike pavé snake head from Alary, making the multi-finger ring appear as the coil of a pet along for the ride. Creatively, these two men have seamlessly blended their respective fortes into a successful and beautifully-wicked little collection. For those of you who like fine jewelry with a bit of edge, this collection is sure to be on your radar in 2016! MASK available at Barneysicon.
